Enter Thomas Ciarrocchi, the Mortgage Stormtrooper! NOTE, I took creative license and bestowed that title upon Thomas. Everybody in today’s world wants to identify as a Jedi or a ninja and portray an image of owning some kind of magic power. A stormtrooper, on the other hand, is someone that will DEFEND YOU AND TAKE ACTION ON YOUR BEHALF. In my opinion, that encapsulates exactly what Thomas is all about, a professional that will take ACTION on your behalf, as you will read!
In our current culture, many (most) professional relationships begin with an introduction via some sort of technical medium, i.e. email and social media. Indeed, that is how I met Thomas.

Technology is both a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because we can scale the ability to fabricate virtual relationships. Technology is also a curse because the physical real-world component of a relationship is diminished, after-all a fabricated virtual relationship is just that, a fabricated virtual relationship.
Indeed that is how Thomas and I met – BUT – Thomas insisted that we also meet in person. The Mortgage Stormtrooper offered to meet at our office and I jumped on it!
SO, We are probably 2 minutes into our meeting, and I say, “Well, let’s get this started. Where do we start?”
Sales professionals go through rounds of guru training, always looking for the secret sauce to success. SO, Thomas pulls out a pad of paper and a pen and I instinctively think back to some of my guru training; “pulling out a pad of paper and a pen is the subliminal trigger that it’s time to get serious – AND – the person to pull the paper and pen first is the leader and fact gatherer.”
I will spare you the boring details but here is there are a couple of important points I would like to share about the pad of paper, pen, and Thomas. By the end of our meeting, that pad of paper was filled with information about how THOMAS COULD HELP ME!
NOTE: This was a very big moment. This small gesture of paper and pen was very comforting. I am usually the “fact gatherer” and the person offering to help, but now someone is genuinely interested in helping me!
By the end of our meeting, I had 100% trust and faith in Thomas because of the fact that he convinced me that the meeting was NOT BECAUSE OF SELF SERVING INTERESTS, BUT BECAUSE HE GENUINELY WANTS TO HELP.
As the meeting progressed and we started to unwind, I then asked Thomas;
Me: I greatly appreciate everything we discussed, your willingness to help, and your commitment to help. How can I help you?
Thomas: Mike, I know if I help you that you will return the favor. What you can do is learn more about how I can help people and help deliver the message.
I share these small and subtle details about our meeting because just like Thomas’s goals in our relationship was to help me, Thomas’s goal with people is to extend that same level of courtesy, service, and ACTION to everyone else when it comes to Mortgages and homeownership.
